Custom Made Meditation
Meditation is simply a stillness practice which helps you to reflect, analyze, and observe. What are we observing? Your past actions, your current thoughts, and the direction in which you seem to be headed. You are analyzing your emotional feelings along with how you physically feel. You are reflecting on how you have conducted yourself today, this year, and in your life thus far. Meditation doesn’t have to be anything deep or spooky, it is just a reflection period. A let go period. A relaxation, recharge, and redirect period. It is an opportunity for you to get yourself together and re-align your energy into the direction of your dreams. Sometimes we get off course and sometimes we find we were never on course. You may not even know where the course is. This is what makes meditation important and fun. It is a journey within the journey we are already traveling throughout life. So, since you understand what meditation is used for, the only real challenge is making it work for you.
All we want to do is find a form of meditation that you can benefit from. Some use exercise as a catalyst, others need complete silence and darkness, and some may need just a pen a pad. The methods are flexible, so I suggest that you try the many different forms of meditation that are available.

Some of these activities seem like hobbies. Some of them seem intense. Some seem like work. And some seem relaxing and just your style. You may be aware of some and have no clue about others, but they all work depending on who you are. Some people use Zen meditation to relax their mind, use journaling to reflect on their day, use the shower to reflect on their thoughts, and use the gym as a way to detox themselves from the stress. As you can see, there is an endless number of combinations that can be implemented when using these meditative strategies. You can even interchange them. Maybe one day you will practice some deep breathing and the next day you might try some yoga. Anything is possible.
Understand that what may work for one person may not work for another. Running is known to be a very therapeutic tool for a lot of women, but more men find therapy in lifting weights. Me personally, I get more out of long stretching, shower reflection, and fasting. These create more of an “effortless” feel on my journey to more enlightenment.
Tony Robbins, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Eric Thomas, Russel Brand, Ellen DeGeneres, Hugh Jackman, Eva Mendes, Miguel, Robin Roberts, Katy Perry, Russell Simmons, Howard Stern, and Oprah Winfrey are just a few of the large list of celebrities who use meditation practices to elevate themselves and their careers. For some, that’s how they got to the top, for others that’s the reason why they are still there and rising.
Meditation is not about career success or money. It will help in those departments, but it’s more about helping you stay on your path. Meaning, keeping your eyes opened and focused on the vision you wish to see manifest. And who knows, that vision may change mid-way. I guarantee you though, if you’re not practicing some form of meditation or reflection you won’t notice this shift in your dreams as soon as you would have liked.
When you reflect and observe you get to see your family, your relationships, your network, your career, your growth, your failure, your beliefs, your thinking, your foundation, your past, your future, your present, your health, what you’re missing, what you have, what you’re grateful for, what you can’t let go, and the daily activities that you are involved in. Even if you’re naturally a self-aware person, you can’t see everything when your always observing from a 1st person point of view. Sometimes you have to step back and breathe.
If you want to get creative, you can find many more forms of meditation that have different techniques and disciplines attached to them. They are easy to find, it just all depends on what you are looking for. Peace be with you.
